SUCCESS!!!

We are pleased to report the 2nd Annual San Francisco Inline Marathon was a success with skaters from all over North America competing for cash and raffle prizes! Given our success, we now turn our attention to making 2009 an even more exciting race.

The proceeds of the SFIM 2009 will supplement The Savant Group Charitable Foundation's support of various non-profit organizations.

The 2009 SFIM date will be available shortly!

The race takes place on a slightly graded, 2.4 mile lap course in Golden Gate Park, along one of the most scenic vistas in San Francisco. John F. Kennedy Drive will be fully closed to vehicle traffic for the duration of the race. Start times will be staggered so that competitive skaters and rec skaters will not be on the course at the same time.

The course loop is approximately 2.4 miles. Full marathon racers will make approximately eleven passes along the course. Half-marathon racers will make six passes, and Super K participants will make three.

FREE PARKING is available around the park, all day.

Race Notes
Slower skaters need to stay to the right of the road (in the outside lane) and be aware and show courtesy to the faster skaters.

Skaters in the professional class that are lapped by skaters of the same class could potentially be disqualified.

There will be a MEDICAL SERVICES tent and ambulance near the start and finish line of the course.

Everyone that competes in the San Francisco Inline Marathon has signed a waiver form. What this means is that everyone skates at their own risk.
